Why I Work Online

When people hear that I work entirely online, the first question is often: “Why not meet in person?”
The short answer: because working online is better for my clients — and for me.
The longer answer is a mix of practicality, accessibility, and the simple fact that meaningful coaching doesn’t depend on sitting in the same room.
The Advantages of Online Coaching
Access without borders
You don’t have to live in my city to work with me. We can meet wherever you are — at home, at work, or even while travelling. This opens the door for clients in different countries, time zones, and situations.
Time saved, energy kept
There’s no commuting, no traffic, no parking stress. You can join a session from your kitchen table or favourite armchair. That time and energy can be invested where it matters most — in your own growth.
Comfort and safety
For many people, especially those in recovery from toxic relationships or going through a vulnerable period, being in a familiar environment can make it easier to open up. You set the scene, you control the space.
Consistency
Life is unpredictable. Online sessions make it easier to keep going even when you’re busy, tired, or dealing with unexpected challenges. You don’t have to cancel just because the weather is bad or the trains are late.
Better resources at hand
Because we’re online, I can share tools, worksheets, and exercises instantly. You can save them, reuse them, and integrate them into your life between sessions.
The Downsides
I’ll be honest: online work isn’t perfect for everyone.
No physical presence
For some, there’s comfort in simply sharing the same physical space.
Screen fatigue
If your workday is already full of video calls, adding one more might feel heavy.
Technical hiccups
A slow internet connection can interrupt the flow.
Why I Still Choose to See My Clients Online
For me, the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks. And when a challenge comes up — like a frozen screen — we handle it. We pause, we restart, we keep going. The flexibility, reach, and comfort of online work mean more people can access coaching, in a way that fits their life.
In the end, it’s not the medium that matters most. It’s the quality of the connection, the clarity of the conversation, and the steps you take afterwards.
